EARLIER WORKS

Most recently Anna played the role of Queen Gertrude of Denmark in a feature film adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Directed by Paul Warner, written by David Vando, and produced by David Wenzel, "Hamlet/Horatio" was released theatrically June 1, 2021, and is now streaming on Apple Tv (iTunes) - Amazon Prime for Pay, YouTube - Google Play. Soon to follow: AMC - Vudu and Tubi.

The film won Best Film at: Los Angeles Film Awards, New York Cinematography Awards and Southeast Regional Film Festival. The rough cut also won Best Experimental Film at the Rome Independent Prisma Awards, among others .

Anna has received a nomination for the Best Actress Award from the International Festival of Cinema and Technology for her role of Sara in Riccardo Costa's film "Change the World."

 

In 2015 she played a principal role in "Stealing Chanel," a feature directed by Roberto Mitrotti, distributed worldwide by Lifetime Network. Anna Maria has played numerous roles in films including "What Goes Around Comes Around," directed by Susan Batson. In 2012 Anna was honored to play opposite Tony Danza during his private rehearsals and preparing for his role in Joseph Gordon Levitt's film "Don Jon."

Anna has also played several leading and major roles on New York City stages (Joyce Soho; St. Peter Church; The Kitchen; Access Theatre; The Equitable Building Auditorium; Theatre for the New City, South Street Theater, American Museum of Natural History, Shetler Theater 54) as well as acting in "Dinner Party," starring Brian Dennehy; and in a special event created for Roberto Benigni, "Inferno Gala."

Hamlet/Horatio

New York. In November 2019 Anna Maria played the role of Queen Gertrude of Denmark in a feature film adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Directed by Paul Warner, written by David Vando, and produced by David Wenzel, "Hamlet/Horatio" will be released theatrically later in 2020.  

 

A rough cut of the first 15 minutes of the film was submitted to film festivals and won Best Film at: Los Angeles Film Awards, New York Cinematography Awards and Southeast Regional Film Festival. The rough cut also won Best Experimental Film at the Rome Independent Prisma Awards, among others (2020).

Stealing Chanel

New York. A feature film acquired by Lifetime TV for worldwide distribution. Anna plays the mother - a heavy gambler - of Giorgio, a compulsive thief of designer clothing in Manhattan, who is forced into a brutal rehabilitation program with a frumpy heiress and court appointed psychologist. The film has screened at the Carmel International Film Festival, and won Best Director Award at International Film Festival Manhattan.
